Crate Paper | Happy

I can honestly say, that I haven't met a Crate Paper collection that I didn't like!  The new Carousel collection by Maggie Holmes, is a collection that definitely falls in that category!  I LOVE everything about it!  There are so many whimsical images and I love the color scheme.  Today I have a new layout to share with you, using the Carousel collection.

Here's the story, on how this layout came together.  The flowers are cut from the Magical patterned paper using my Silhouette Cameo.  I originally planned to use the flowers on a different project, but I changed direction after I had cut the flowers.  I kept them on my desk and decided to use them on a layout instead.  For the layout design, I took inspiration from one of my previous Crate Paper layouts, which used a large covered initial.  This is the original layout:

Even though I used the same idea from this layout, you can see that I changed things up, to get a completely different design on the new layout.  It's always fun to take a previous idea and turn it into something new.

I wanted to keep most of the initial free from embellishments, so I clustered most of the embellishing around the photo.  The Ephemera Pack for the Carousel collection has a ton of adorable pieces, and it was hard narrowing it down to just a few for my layout.  I knew I wanted to mix the Ephemera with stickers, chipboard and the cute clips included with the collection.

To bring balance to the layout, I did decide to create a cluster on the top left-hand side of the initial.  I just had to work one of the cute fabric bows into the layout, and this simple cluster was the perfect spot.

I hope you're looking forward to getting your hands on this gorgeous new collection!!  Keep an eye on your favorite online shops for availability.  And if you missed the full reveal of the collection, you can see it HERE on the Crate Paper Blog.
