Fall Days = Busy Days!

The past couple of weeks seem like a blur!  Just when you think things might slow down, they actually go into hyper-drive!  Fall is definitely that kind of season for us.  We love to get out in the nice weather and go to every festival or Fall activity taking place...Fair, Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maize, Honey Bee Festival, Heritage Day Festival, Halloween, and our Church Fall Festival.  Along with all of these events, comes lots of scrapbook pages.  So far, I am ahead on two pages.  I've gotten a Fall lo ready...which I will probably add pictures of one of the kids playing in some leaves.  I also did a page with a Halloween theme with some pictures of Emma being silly in Walmart-which is a usual occurrence!  So here are the lo's.  There will be many more Autumn lo's to follow!

Also, here are a few others that I've done recently, but have not had a chance to post:

Challenging Challenge!

One of the ladies (Toree) on Club Ck posted a challenge last week, to do a lo using only patterned paper (no solid cardstock), brads or eyelets, ribbon, and glitter.  I have to say, that the most challenging part was not being able to use solid card stack.  It is usually my go to, for a break in the lo or to section off the patterned paper.  But I found that using patterned papers with varying pre-dominant colors (like the pink and yellow) offers the same effect.  The flowers are tissue paper.  I crumpled up the paper, went over it with my stamp pad, and then put the three layers together using eyelets and brads.

"Curve" Appeal

Today's 1 Hour Challenge (one of my fav challenges) on Club Ck was to create a layout or card with curves.  I usually find it hard to incorporate curves on my layouts, because everything is so angular.  Straight paper, straight pictures, straight title...so I thought this would be a fun challenge.  I found a patterned paper, that had a curved design and cut along the design.  I also shaped a pipe cleaner to mimic the curve of my paper...not as easy at it looks, folks!  :)  I also threw in a few circular items here and there, my base patterend paper, on my title, and the tag with the date.  And a biggie...I rounded the corners on my pictures...not something I normally do.  Here is the finished product and all it's curviness:

Technique Overload

Sometimes I have the urge to use every technique I've ever seen all on one layout!!  My "Walk This Way" lo could fall into that category.  :)  I used the Cuttlebug to emboss my white paper strips and then inked over them with the brown stamp pad.  But I couldn't stop there...no I wanted "street signs" that looked like epoxy stickers and didn't have any of my own, so another technique had to be implemented.  I printed a few clipart images of street signs I found on the internet and used Diamond Glaze over the top of them.  Once it dries, it leaves a clear coating and gives your elements a "puffy" sticker feel.  And finally, one of the challenges on Club Ck this week (by Erika H) was to dress up a plain journaling spot.  I typed my journaling on the yellow paper and then used the (embossed) arrow, my title, and a small circular tag to dress it up.  So, without further ado, here is the masterpiece created using all of these techniques:

The Beginning...Let's see how successful this is!

Okay, I have to get this out in the open before we go any further...this is NOT my first Blog!  Where are those other blogs I started and vowed to keep updated?  Sadly, they are lost somewhere in cyberspace!  But let's hope "The Paper Doll" will be a little bit different, because it will be an outlet for my favorite hobby...Scrapbooking!!  I know what you're thinking, "It's not enough that you scrapbook, but now you've got to have a blog about it too?"  Well I say, "Everyone else has one, so I want one too!"  So here it is.  I have spent way to much time designing the title for my blog and picking out just the right colors (but it is stinkin' cute), and I am tyring to figure out what all the gadgets are and how to make my blog rival that of Dear Lizzy (like that will ever happen), and I should be in bed because it is really late and I have to get up early for church...but I always get sucked into this computer and this thing known as the World Wide Web.  So I will end, not with a vow to keep my blog updated everyday, but only to remember my sign in and password to actually get to my blog.  I guess that's a start!  :)
