Pinkfresh Studio Ink Pad Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio Ink Pad Release Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Ashlea Cornell's Blog.  If you are just now joining in the Hop on my Blog, you can visit the Pinkfresh Studio Blog to start at the beginning.  All along the Hop, you will find gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team, using the amazing Ink Pads that are new to Pinkfresh Studio!

I loved working with the Ink Pads, and I used the minis...they are SO CUTE!!  I started out by coordinating some of the ink pad colors that I wanted to use, with the Just a Little Lovely collection.  I decided on colors from these ink pad groups:  Rise & Shine, Soul of Province, Indian Summer, Fairy Dust and Starry Night.  They coordinated perfectly with the Around Here patterned paper from the collection.

I stamped out a frame and some floral pieces from the Pinkfresh Studio Abstract Builder stamp set and then I fussy cut them out, so I could place them around my photo.  The fussy cut pieces created a perfect cluster on the left hand side of the page.

I also used the same colors from my stamped images to add extra splatters on the layout.  I rubbed the Sweet Mustard, Regal Kiss and Slumber ink pads onto some clear packaging.  Then I wet the tip of my paintbrush and picked up some of the ink pad color, and splattered it onto the background paper.  I love that the extra splatters look like they were already part of the paper!

Park Lane Paper Stacks

Joann's Stores carries some great scrapbooking supplies, and I recently received the Park Lane Color Play paper stack and The Basics paper stack.  These papers are perfect to use with embellishments you already have in your stash, and there are so many patterns to choose from!

I started with a layout, using the Color Play paper stack.  It has some patterns that are great for fussy cutting, which is one of my favorite techniques!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a heart shape from white cardstock.  I backed the heart shape with my photo and one of the papers from The Basics paper stack.  Then I placed it on a white cardstock background.  I wanted the heart shape to really pop, so I used all of the fussy cut flowers around the edge of the heart and them machine stitched around it.

I used one of the cut apart sheets from the Color Play paper stack for my title.  I just cut the word Be-You-Tiful and added it over the fussy cut flowers, to the right of my photo.  For balance, I also cut the word love from the cut apart paper and placed it on the upper left hand side of the heart.

For the finishing touches, I incorporated a few embellishments from the Crate Paper Chasing Dreams collection, that coordinated with the paper colors.  I also used the same paper from The Basics stack, that I placed behind my photo, to add two corners to the edge of the layout.  Then I splattered some Black Color Shine diagonally across the page.

For my second project, I decided to create a layout in my Traveler's Notebook.  I love brightly colored patterned papers, so I chose some from both of the paper stacks.  I wanted my photo to be Black & White to add a nice contrast with the bright papers.

I started with a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, and cut it from white cardstock, then backed it with several patterned papers from The Basics paper stack.  I loved all of the color on the polka dot paper, so I also used a cut file with it to create a frame for my layout.  Once I had the flower cut files backed, I placed them on the corners of each side of the layout.

I love to have symmetry in my projects, so I placed my photo and one of the cut apart phrases on either side of the layout.  Before adding the cut apart card, which works as my title, I added some machine stitching around the edge.

I also fussy cut a few flowers from one of the Color Play patterned papers, to add to the layout.  Fussy cutting is a great way to create your own embellishments.  And I finished the layout, with a few other embellishments from Simple Stories and Studio Calico.

I hope you'll check out all of the amazing Park Lane paper stacks in Joann's Stores!  You can find them online or in the store!

$25 GIFT CERTIFICATE WINNER:
MAUREEN BAUGI!!

Hello there!  Welcome to my Blog!  I am so excited to be a part of Pinkfresh Studio's 5th Birthday Blog Hop Celebration!!  I have been a fan of Pinkfresh Studio since the company began and have served on the Design Team twice!  The products are always fresh and original and I love using them for my projects.  I have two layouts to share with you today, and make sure you read the entire post for some awesome GIVEAWAY information!!

My first layout uses the fun Out & About collection.  It is perfect for any and all travel themed projects, and I LOVE the colors in this collection!!

I had so much fun putting this layout together!!  The patterned papers from the collection went great with the Open Letter Alpha Cut File from The Cut Shoppe store!

On my second layout, I used the Everyday Musings collection and I wanted to add dimension and texture!  Layered hearts add lots of dimension and machine stitching bring in some great texture.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the heart shapes from several of the patterned papers in the Everyday Musings 6x6 paper pad.  Then I folded each one down the center, layered them together and machine stitched them.  I also drew a large heart shape on my background card stock and then placed the layered hearts along the shape.

I placed my photo and embellishments in the center of the heart shape.  I love the way it creates a frame around all of the elements on my layout!

Technique Tuesday | Home Grown

Happy first day of April friends!!  It's also NEW Release Day at Technique Tuesday and there are lots of new stamps and dies in the Shop!  I received the Growing Garden Stamp Set and the Growing Garden Crafting Dies.  I combined both of these to create a layout in my Traveler's Notebook.

If you've followed me for a while, you have probably heard me say at least once, that I have a black thumb.  I can never get anything to grow.  Miraculously, I've manged to keep three of my succulent's alive for about a year now.  The Growing Garden Stamp and Die set were perfect for documenting my photo.

I started with the cute watering can from the stamp set and stamped it onto a pink striped patterned paper.  Then I used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I also added the cute butterfly from the stamp set to the center of the watering can.  I wanted to create my title with the Home Grown sentiment, so I stamped it on a 3x4 card from the Spring Market collection by Carta Bella.  I placed the watering can under the title and stamped on the cute lady bug to complete the 3x4 card.

For the left hand side of my Traveler's Notebook layout, I cut my photo to the same dimension as the 3x4 card and placed them side by side.  Then I used a couple of the cute gardening tools from the Stamp set to create a cluster on the left side of my photo.

Combining the Stamp set and coordinating die makes it so easy to create your own embellishments!  Make sure you visit the Technique Tuesday store to check out all of the new releases and join in the Blog Hop to see what the other Designers created!

Technique Tuesday | Life at Home

Hi friends!  Today, I'm sharing a new project for Technique Tuesday!  I got to work with the new Love Home stamp set in my Traveler's Notebook.  This stamp set is perfect for our family, because we homeschool, so we spend a lot of time at home!!

I started this Traveler's Notebook layout with a large photo, and paired it with a Pie Chart patterned paper.  In the center of the Pie Chart, I stamped the "Life at Home" sentiment as the title of my layout.  Then I added a little bit of journaling and embellishing to complete the left hand side of the layout.

I wanted to include some stamping on the photo, so I used the Oval & Rectangle Stitched Label Dies with a rainbow patterned paper from the Amy Tangerine Stay Sweet collection.  I loved that the rainbow patterned paper coordinated with the Pie Chart colors.  Then I stamped two sentiments in black ink, from the Love Home stamp set on the die cut pieces.  I placed one at the top right hand side and one at the bottom left hand side of the photo.

Then I used the cute bird house image from the stamp set to create a fussy cut embellishment.  I stamped the bird house in black ink on two different patterned papers from the Stay Sweet collection.  Next, I cut out the pieces and trimmed away the bottom portion of the bird house on one of the patterned papers.  I adhered the roof to the other part of the bird house and then placed it at the top of the Pie Chart.

Make sure you visit the Technique Tuesday website to check out all of the products I used on this Traveler's Notebook layout!

Technique Tuesday | Follow Your Heart

Hi friends!  I am excited to be a Guest Designer with Technique Tuesday for the months of March and April!  There are so many fun Stamps and Dies in the Shop!  I received the Essential Stitched Labels Die set and used them to create a Traveler's Notebook layout.

I decided to pair the Dies with the American Crafts New Day collection by Dear Lizzy.  I thought it would be fun to use the 6x6 patterned papers with the Dies, since this size has a smaller pattern on it.  I cut several of the Die shapes from the two smaller ones that are included with the set.  Then I arranged them in my Traveler's Notebook to create a custom background.

Right now, I currently have a Tim Holtz Sidekick, which is a smaller manual die cut machine.  It worked perfectly with the two smaller Dies, but I had to get creative to use the larger one.  I decided to trace around the outside edge and the inside edge of the large Die.  Then I cut it out and used my paper piercer to punch holes around the inside line.  Then I hand-stitched with White embroidery floss.  I love the texture this adds to the layout.

I saved most of my embellishing for last, because I knew the Essential Stitched Labels Die set would be perfect for adding different embellishments.  I used a mix of die cuts, chipboard and fussy cut phrases from the collection to embellish the Dies.  And, I wanted to leave some of the shapes without embellishments, to emphasize the cute patterned paper.

I hope you've found some fun inspiration for using the Essential Stitched Labels Die set on your project.
