Summer Days...Now & Then

This week I worked on 2 different Summer layouts.  One of them is from our trip to the pool last week and the other is from one of my trips to the beach in 1976!  There is one thing that is constant though, even after all of those years...it is HOT!!  The first layout is for the 7.28 challenge at Sketchy Thursdays.  I finally got to play with some of the Splash papers from Echo Park and they are adorable!!  I only had one sheet of the sun ray paper and really wanted to use the yellow in the center of my layout.  So I cut an 8.5x8.5 square out of the center of the paper, then cut a 9x9 piece from kraft and used it to cover the hole in the page and added my yellow over the top.

The second layout is one that I did for a fun, new challenge over at Club CK.  One of the ladies decided to host a weekly challenge based on the show Project Runway.  Each week, there will be a challenge that corresponds with what the designers had to do on the show.  On last week's first episode, the designers were awakened at 5AM and their challenge was to use the pajamas that they were wearing and one bed sheet to design their outfit.  Yikes!!  But I think the challenge was a little easier for us Club CK gals.  We had to use our pj's as inspiration for our layout and I chose the most comfortable pajama pants that are my favorites.  The teal, blue, and green color scheme worked great for my beach themed layout and I love the stripes, so included those also.
