The great thing about love themed products, is that they can be use all year long! I have a lot of love themed flair buttons in my stash, so I thought it
would be fun to pair them with the Crate Paper Heart Day collection for
today's layout. The flair I used on my layout are all from different
sets, but they coordinate perfectly together...Chalkboard Valentines 2 Flair, XOXO Flair and Selfie Flair. You can never go wrong with mixing and matching flair from the A Flair for Buttons Shop!
I started with the idea of creating a large fringe heart for the layout,
and I wanted to use the flair buttons in clusters around the photo for
dimension and texture. I have a new Process Video to go along with the
layout, showing how I created the fringe heart.
I love that the Red and Black color scheme on the flair buttons blends
in perfectly with the Heart Day collection. They look like they were
made for each other! It's fun to mix flair buttons into clusters,
because it gives the eye a lot of fun things to look at on your layout.
This was a fun design and the right flair buttons made the layout come
together so easily. You can visit the Shop to check out the sets I used
and make sure you browse through for any other designs that might catch
your eye!

Hello! I'm stopping in to share some Crate Paper Heart Day home decor with you! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you’re looking for a
last-minute idea, for a cute addition to your Valentine’s Day décor,
then this is it! Local craft stores always carry items that can be
altered and I picked up this cute wooden house from Target. I love the
different sections it has, and they are perfect for embellishing with
the Heart Day collection!
I started with a plain white sheet of copy paper, and placed it over the
bottom right section of the wooden house. I could see the outline of
the open spot, so I placed a small mark with my pencil on the paper.
Next I used my ruler to draw the lines and cut along them with my
scissors. Then I layered it over the patterned paper I wanted to use,
and it worked as a guide for cutting the perfect shape to fit inside the
section. I added a bit of adhesive to the back of my paper and then
placed it in the coordinating section. I repeated this process, until I
had each section filled with a different patterned paper.
Next up, came the embellishing! I used a mix of embellishments from the
Heart Day collection to decorate the wooden house. I placed the large
chipboard love banner and the fringe heart on the outside of the house,
to create dimension and play up the 3D effect of the wooden house. Then I
grabbed a few embellishments from the Ephemera Pack and the Chipboard
sheet to add to several of the sections. I also included some phrase
stickers from the collection to emphasize the Valentine’s theme of the
home décor piece.
This is such an easy project, and definitely a cute addition to any
Valentine’s Décor. You can easily mix and match the Heart Day collection
to create your own unique look!
Hey everyone! I've got a new layout to share with you, using the Heart Day collection from Crate Paper...and believe it or not, a new PROCESS VIDEO!! I know it's been a while, but sometimes you just need a break. I'm sharing a layered heart technique using several of the patterned papers from Heart Day, so here's a look at my layout, and don't miss the process video at the end of my post.
I think it's safe to say, that Crate Paper knocks it out of the park when it comes to any of their collections! I love the different shades of Pink in this collection, with little touches of Yellow and light Teal. And the various patterned papers were perfect for creating these fun, layered hearts.
I had this family photo on my desk, that was originally for another layout, but just wasn't working for the theme of the layout. I saved it because I knew I could use it on another layout sometime in the near future. And tada...it was just right for this layout. I love that you can use Heart Day for photos of you and your sweetie or for family photos...and maybe even your pet photos! We all love our fur babies, right??!!
If you would like to see how this layout came together, you can check out my new Process Video. And if you haven't already subscribed to my YouTube Channel make sure you head over and click subscribe. I'll have more videos to share with you soon!
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week!
