Superheros are iconic and loved by young and old. We all have our favorites, and I'm sure at one time we've dreamed of being a Superhero. So needless to say, I was very excited to be one of the Creative Team working with this style! And I couldn't think of a better hero than daddy, and had a perfect photo from this past Father's Day to use on my layout. Here is what I created:

Welcome to the American Crafts Blog Hop, as we meet the new Design Team for 2013-2014! If this is your first stop, please make sure you go back to the American Crafts Blog to get started. You should have arrived here from the talented Angie Gutshall's Blog.Since this is a welcome to the Team Hop, we were asked to create a layout about ourselves. I knew I wanted to do something fun with my journaling on this page, so I decided to use the Talk Bubble trend as a way to record some facts about me. I cut various Talk Bubbles on my Cameo using the White American Crafts cardstock. I backed each of the Talk Bubbles with different patterned papers from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm 6x6 paper pad. Since my handwriting is a little messy...or at least, I think so...I used my printer for my journaling and used different fonts to go in each talk bubble. And I decided to frame in the Talk Bubble design by stitching a square, using some of the American Crafts Baker's Twine.Next, you are off to visit Corrie Jones' Blog! Today we have our new Sketch Challenge up on the Life.Paper.Scrapbook Blog! I loved working with this Sketch and the Ladies on the DT created some fabulous pages with the Sketch! Here's a look at what I created: I used The Pier collection from Crate Paper on my layout. I think this has been one of the most popular collections out there, this Summer! I know, I couldn't get enough of it! I cut the chevron pattern from one of the papers in the collection to use for my background layer and also fussy cut the Hexagon shapes to use in place of the circle shapes on the Sketch.
Now it's your turn to show us your take on the Sketch! All you have to do is create a layout based on the Sketch and link up on the Life.Paper.Scrapbook Blog. Yesterday, I shared a Card on The Paper Bakery Blog, using the August Scrapbook Kit, Hello You. I created a Vellum heart shape and added the small confetti hearts that were in the Kit, to make a fun little heart pocket on my Card.I stitched around the Heart shape and embellished my Card with one of the Custom Flair Buttons from The Paper Bakery Shop and one of the wood veneer heart shapes included in the Kit. Yesterday, Get It Scrapped! shared an article with inspiration for the Camping/Glamping Motif that is really popular right now. If you are wondering what Glamping is, here's a little snippet of our assignment: Camping is cool right now. "Glamping" (a more upscale approach to camping) is also trendy - even at weddings and honeymoons.There is a great PInterest Board from Get It Scrapped!, that offers lots of inspiring images for the Camping/Glamping theme. We went down to the beach for a day trip, this Summer, to visit with family. I wanted to document a few photos of our travel to the beach, using the Camping look on my layout. Even though my photos are not camping photos, I was still able to use this motif, to document the photos by using several different elements: wood grain paper, map print paper, a Compass flair button, arrows, a GeoTag, and stickers.
