Last night, I got to attend our monthly Crop at church. I took photos for 6 pages and finished 4. I could've kept going, but everybody else had come to a stopping point, so I just decided to bring the last two sets of photos home to do those pages later. I am sharing 2 of my pages from last night, since the other 2 are for DT"s and will be revealed in the upcoming days.
This first layout, is for the sketch challenge at Artful Delight. I really liked the design of their sketch this month and thought it would be perfect for this page, since it included one photo, which was all I needed to tell my story. Our son is 2 1/2 and apparently already addicted to Video Games. He will sit and play the Leapster Explorer for hours and if you take it away from him, he throws a MAJOR fit!!!
I used a mix of papers on this one...Crate Paper Toy Box collection, Sassafras, and a little Bella Blvd. I really love the way all of the colors work together on this page and I added some distressing with a dark brown ink, to give it a little bit more of a boyish look.
Products Used:

The second layout is for Case File #9 at CSI. I started this layout, without a clear vision of what I wanted to do and wasn't really happy with it half way through. But once I got the whole layout completed, I ended up loving it! I used some acrylic and rubber stamps along with ink from Stampin' Up, to create the pattern on my background paper. I don't normally do a lot of inky/messy pages...so it's funny that both of the layouts in this post are inked!!
I picked up the adorable layered flowers by K&Company last week and knew they would fit in perfectly with the color scheme for this Case File. I pulled my paper choices from a variety of companies to get the ones I needed to match the colors. This week for the evidence portion, I used hot air balloons, a bird accent, and a striped pattern. I used a definition for the word fun, for the testimony portion of the challenge. I think I ended up loving this page so much, because it wasn't the typical look for a Fair page, but it still has some casual elements that tie in the with Fair...like, the Denim pattern and the pennant banner.

Love, Love, Love them Ashley! I really enjoy seeing how you come up with fantastic designs and your pictures are SUPER WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteWow! What beautiful layouts. I can't wait to see the other 2 designs you were working on.
ReplyDeleteLove love love love these Ashley!!! I am loving the Cosmo chipboard stickers on that first one... totally PERFECT!!! And Brookie has the Leapster Explorer too!!! She loves it! Thanks so much for playing along with Artful Delight!
ReplyDeleteThese are both so lovely Ashley. You just make me laugh when I look at that layout of your son. My kids were the same way. Just keep telling yourself..."it's educational", lol. He is just too darn cute!
ReplyDeleteI love your pages! How fun you went to a crop. I love the page about your son addicted to games. Nate was just grounded this week from his LeapPad. I told him it would be for a month, as punishment for talking back. It seemed to be the only thing I could take from him that would really get his attention. That and he can also no longer play Angry Birds on my Kindle. He really feels grounded now. :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, your LO's are absolutely fabulous. He started a little later though, I think he was 3 1/2. We got a Wii and he played Mario ALL day, EVERYday for like 4 months until he passed the game. Not even 4 and he had passed the Super Mario. LOL!!! And yes he threw fits if you turned it off. haha!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for playing along with Artful Delight this month!!! :-)
Wow, Ashley, both of these are awesome!!! You did such a great job with the Artful Delight sketch, happy to see you playing along!! I love how you can make a layout so "busy" but not "too busy" it just looks awesome...great work!
ReplyDeleteAshley these layouts are gorgeous!! I really love the first one! It's so cute that your son is a gamer at 2 1/2! The bright colours and all those fabulous patterned papers are awesome! I really love the way you've stamped the paper on the second one and I do love that it's not a traditional carnival themed layout! It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteTerrific LOs! Your tiny gamer guy is precious. I love the little embellishments you used and your take on Fab Abby's Artful Delight sketch!

I don't mind him using it, he's learning alot, and it's great in the car when we go and pick up the bigs from school and we are waiting in endless lines...awesome pages as always Ashley!!
