Finally Getting Around to It!

This has been a weird week!  Up until today, I just haven't really felt like doing anything...including working on any of my layouts (I know...horror, right??!!)!!  I think sometimes, that I just let myself get too overwhelmed with things and then I just STOP!  Apparently this has been one of those times.  But today, I had my Thursday morning Bible Study with other SAHM moms and some of the other Ladies in our church, who don't work.  When we came home, we had lunch, then I got the kids down for their naps (my favorite part of the day)...and then I started cleaning!!  I got the kitchen mopped...which is a rare event around here.  It's really one of those things that I think, "what's the point", because in 5 minutes, somebody's gonna spill juice on it, drop food all over it, or who knows what else.  But needless to say, it is at least clean for the moment!  :)  I also got several baskets of laundry folded, cleaned the bathroom (another area I usually try to avoid) and vacuumed!  And then...supper started!!  WHEW!  It makes me all tired again, just thinking about it!  :)

With all of that said, I am finally getting around to posting my layout for Card Sketch #17 at Sketch Support!!  True, I could have had it ready to post this morning by setting up my Auto-Post, but that was just another one of those things I wasn't motivated to do!!  :)  But I really enjoyed using this sketch, because I think it's fun to take the Card Sketches and turn them into layouts.  Here's what I did:

I played with some of the yummy Simple Stories papers on this one and kept my embellies pretty simple.  I added some buttons, brads, and a few stamped images.  We love to visit New Orleans and even with all of the delicious restaurants located there, I always love stopping at Bubba Gumps.  We went over the weekend before Valentine's Day and I ordered their Barbecue Shrimp and it was so, so delicious!  Of course, I had to snap a pic of my plate before I dug in!!

I hope you will stop by Sketch Support and check out what the Team has been doing this week!  There are some amazing cards and today's post features all layouts, based on the Card Sketch.  And I am happy to say that after feeling like most of my week has been wasted this week, I feel very accomplished after my busy day today.  And I get to go to our monthly Craft Night tomorrow night, so I can get caught up on all of those pages, I was too lazy to create this week!!  :)

  1. This just ROCKS Ashley! I love love love that collection and loving how you incorporated the "Bubba" symbol on there!!

  2. I saw this on Sketch Support this morning and I loved it! It has such great colors and flow to it. I think it is a great idea to scrap your favorite things! Also, I just had to laugh since I can relate to how you feel about mopping the floor. I think the same thing and wonder why I do it every time. Also, I think the feeling of not wanting to do anything hit Colorado today. I had to force myself to get out of my pjs!

  3. This reminds me that I really need to put a camera in my purse! Great layout and that shrimp looks delish :)

  4. Great layout, Ashley! Love those papers and how you worked them, and that looks so, so good!! :)

  5. a great page and a great way to showcase not only your yummy meal but the great use of SS papers too!

  6. A terrific LO! I love the little circular Bubba embellishment. I too get overwhelmed with my crafty life sometimes. I stop at these times also. It should always be a fun process and we never want it to become stressful. Yay to a clean house though. That is what I should be doing today but I might just go and scrap instead. No young children around here, so the discipline is hard to keep sometimes. Lots of free time for scrapping! ;)

  7. love your title and that you made a layout about food, how fun!! great colors in this one, they go well with the photo :) Awesome page!! I can relate with the cleaning, it stays clean for 1.5 raking leaves in the wind!! lol

  8. Love me some Bubba Gumps too!! Your layout is awesome, as always :)

  9. I love how a day started with the Lord always end well;-)

Gorgeous layout all the journaling on your layout.

  10. That's a seafood dish that actually looks yummy! LOL....I love scrapping food pics. Great pic. And fun idea to use a card sketch for a LO.

  11. Great layout! I am not a card maker so I usually make a layout with the card sketches too. Hope you are out of your slump soon :)
