I have two layouts to share with you, for Get It Scrapped! We had some great assignments for the month of October, and I loved working with them.
The first is for yesterday's article, Inspired by Entertainment. You can find inspiration everywhere and with all of the technology out there these days, it's right at our fingertips! Our 3 year old loves playing on the computer and on our phones, so I couldn't resist doing a page with this photo and the complete concentration he had on his face.
For this layout, I decided to take inspiration for my page, from one of my favorite video games when I was younger, Pacman. I used my Cricut Expression to die cut my Pacman and the little ghost for my page. I also love the little yellow dot trail that you follow on the Pacman game, so I decided to incorporate it, by punching circles with my 1/4 inch punch. And here is the inspiration image I used, for my page:
Supplies - Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye & Crate Paper; Wood Veneers & Spray Mist: Studio Calico; Thickers: American Crafts; Punches: EK Success & Marvy; Brads: The Paper Studio; Button: Stampin' Up; Font: CK Matrix
The second layout is up today, for the Modeling Paste article. If you haven't tried Modeling Paste yet, I definitely recommend it! It's so much fun!!
Using Modeling Paste is a great way to create great texture on your pages, without adding a lot of bulk. I used a reverse Chicken Wire mask from The Crafter's Workshop to add the Modeling Paste to my layout. A credit card or stiff piece of plastic works for spreading the paste over your mask. Once I applied the paste to the spot I wanted to fill on my layout, I removed the mask and let it dry. It doesn't take too long for the paste to dry. After it was completely dry, I used an ink pad and brushed it over the Modeling Paste, until the color covered the surface of the Chicken Wire design. Then I added a little bit of Spray Mist, by sprinkling it over the page, using the nozzle from the bottle.
Supplies: Patterned Paper, Chipboard, & Vellum Papaer: American Crats; Modeling Paste: Liquitex; Tin Pin & Mini Market Stickers: October Afternoon; Punch: Anna Griffin; Font: Chelsea Studio & Abadi MT Condensed; Wood Veneer & Mister Huey's Spray Mist: Studio Calico; Chicken Wire Mask: The Crafter's Workshop; Ink: Close to My Heart
