Big Boy Bike

Over the weekend, I had some free time, to do a page just for fun.  I still have so many pages to reveal for upcoming DT work, but I usually try to get my layouts done all at one time or as many as I can at a time when I am doing DT pages.  So my time for being able to play along with challenges, fluctuates between my DT work and downtime.  But I was really excited to get back into the Case File challenges at CSI:  Color, Stories, Inspiration and for this layout, I played along with Case File #27.  And, I decided to make the most of this layout, by incorporating a second challenge from Club CK.  The July/August Issue Challenge #1, is using die cuts on your layout.  This is one of my favorite things right now...and my Cricut Expression has been a busy little bee lately!!

For this Case File, I worked with leaves/branches (which are some of the CSI Coordinates, created by Michele Singh) and clouds.  I documented about the outdoors, for the Testimony portion of the Case File and I loved working with this color scheme!

I went a little crazy with the die cuts!!  :)  I cut the triangle shapes to create the arrow/chevron pattern in the center of my page and also used the negative cut for the word "bike".  And I knew I wanted a large bicycle die cut, so I used a bike silhouette image and then traced around it, once I adhered it to the layout.

There is still time to play along with both of these challenges, so I hope you will come check them out!!

  9. Oh a terrific take on the challenge! Love the title too. :) I haven't been playing along with CSI as of late. I miss it but seem to be gravitating towards using some of the new product I bought last CHA. I have all the files saved for future investigation!! ;)

  11. Love this, Ashley! I always love seeing all of your detail...you always use every space of your page, and it looks good every time! Your layouts never look too busy, even though you use a ton of embellishments. I love the arrows on this one, and the empty space in BIKE is awesome. The bicycle die-cut is so perfect for this!
