It's March and that means it time for the luck of the Irish and lots of Green! And even if you don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day, you can still have fun incorporating the color Green into your next layout using some of your Love My Tapes Washi Tape! I added a lot of Green to my layout, by using the Vine patterned Washi Tape from Love My Tapes, Green Patterned Paper from Pebbles Inc., and Chartreuse Color Shine from Heidi Swapp.
I used the Vine Washi Tape, to create a "shelf" on my layout, which is basically a line or border across your page that doesn't go all the way from end to end, that you use as an anchor for your photos and embellishments. And, of course, I had to sneak in a little strip of my favorite Washi...the Teal diagonal stripe!!These photos of our oldest daughter bring back memories of when I was a little girl. I would sit outside in the clover beds for hours, picking the little white "flowers", making a slit in the stem and then weaving them together to make a "fairy" wreath for my hair. :) I just had to snap these photos of her looking through the clovers and it just happened to be a perfect fit for the Green theme. :) And I also took a little inspiration from Dear Lizzy with the flag on this layout. She has some awesome tissue paper flags with her new lines and I wanted to give it a try with the Gold polka dot vellum paper from American Crafts. I am so excited to share my layout today, using the March Kit from Artful Delight! It has a fun mix of goodies from Teresa Collins' new lines, Memories, Stationary Noted, and He Said/She Said. I have to admit, that I have never worked with any Teresa Collins product before, but I really LOVED the mix of these lines! The March layout sketch and card sketch are also included in the post.I created this layout from the March Sketch. I loved the She Said stamp set that is included in the Kit! I am trying to become a better stamper, but I still have issues sometimes! :) I liked the way it turned out on this layout though, with the black ink contrasting with the other colors in the collection. Today is the last reveal...for a little while...for Creative Scrappers! CS will be taking a little "vacation", but Kristine is busy planning some things and bringing lots of great stuff back to the readers later this year. And, did you know, that she has been busy putting together her 2nd Sketch Book, Creating With Sketches Volume 2. I shifted my photo to the other side, so our little guy would be looking into the page. But I really loved this grid design, that Kristine created, so I kept the rest of the Sketch as is. And I was really excited to use some of the awesome Darling Dear from Studio Calico. I also purchased those fun diamond patterns from the Studio Calico store, to use with my Cameo. I had fun mixing in the shape with the patterned paper, the cut files, and the wood veneers.I really loved the photo on this page, because the kids are always so fascinated with the Donut making process, when we visit Krispy Kreme. But this photo was even better, because the kids all got hats that night, and I love that Reese was wearing his while he watched the Donuts come down the assembly line.Even though CS is taking a break, you still have the whole month of March to come over and play along with us! Today is my day to share my work for The Paper Bakery! I had so much fun with the February Kits, and I can't wait to get our March Kits...mine should hopefully be here by Monday! I will keep this one short and sweet, because I know it's the weekend and we are all busy bees! Well, I normally don't share when I apply for the BIG Design Teams, but I did take the plunge and apply for the Fancy Pants call. I usually keep a fairly level head when it comes to applying for DT's because I know they receive so many submissions from very talented Scrapbookers from all over the world, but it can still be a little disappointing if you don't get that invitation to the Team in the end. But I did want to stop in and share two of the layouts I sent in with my Fancy Pants application using their collections The Good Life and Hopscotch. I loved coordinating the fun patterns from both of these lines, and here is what I created:From The Good Life: I LOVE the great mix of colors in this one, with the Reds, Blues, Blacks, and Yellows! And there are some great patterns in this collection that work for fussy cutting and creating your own embellishments!From Hopscotch: The Hopscotch collection has a great mix of colors. I took out some of the colors that would coordinate well for a Fall layout, but you could do so many different things with this collection. There are some great florals and Pinks, that would be perfect for a cute, girly layout.So now, it's just the waiting and hoping that they like my work! :) Even if I don't make it, I've still got two great layouts finished and ready to go in my album...and some more cute Fancy Pants papers to use for future layouts!!Hope you have a great weekend...and make sure you stop by again on Saturday for my post for The Paper Bakery and on Sunday we'll have the last Sketch reveal for Creative Scrappers! Hi Bloggy friends! I'm back today with a new layout featuring some of my favorite Washi Tapes from Love My Tapes. You know, I just can't get enough of that Teal diagonal striped Washi Tape!! I thought it would be fun this week, to use my tapes to create some Chevrons for my layout...what a great way to combine two of your favorite things!! To create the larger Chevron pieces, I used several of the tapes and placed them over White cardstock. Then I used my Cameo to cut out the Chevron shapes. I also added a few smaller Chevrons, with just the Washi Tape folded over itself, to create a triangle. Then I cut the triangle to a point in the center, to create the Chevron shape rather than a triangle shape. And I used one more strip of the Teal tape, to hold down the Vellum paper that I cut the fringe pattern on. It worked perfectly to secure the Vellum, without having to worry about any adhesive showing through the transparent Vellum!It's always fun to find new ways to use your Washi Tapes and revisit some of your favorite past uses!!
