***Linked up at Paper Issues***.Yesterday, I shared my first Design Team post on the Silhouette Blog. We teamed up with Hero Arts this week, and I was given an awesome Christmas tree file and a Hero Arts Christmas Stamp set to work with. Here's a look at the layout I shared, and a tutorial for creating a title using the print and welding features. Begin, by choosing your printable patterns from the Silhouette store. Then you can use any of your fonts to type out your title. I placed both words in my title, close together, to use the welding feature later on. Once you have your title typed out, select the pattern fill box, which is located in the first set of tool boxes on the right hand side of Silhouette Studio. Scroll through and select the pattern, that you want to use to fill the letters. Now you will select print to send your filled pattern letters to your printer. You do not have to use the Registration Marks for the print and cut process for this technique.
After your image has printed, place your paper on the Cameo mat and be sure it is lined up on the guide marks at the top and left hand side of the mat. Now you can click your title and select the Offset tool. Make sure your offset margin is enough to overlap and weld your words together.
Now that your title words are welded together, you can add in one of the shapes from the Silhouette store. I used one of the Ampersand shapes as a part of my title. Once it is in place, weld it with your title words.
You can remove the pattern filled words and now you are ready to send your paper and mat through the Cameo to cut your Offset of the title shape.
Now that you have your finished cut title, you can customize it even more by adding Glitter, or pop dots to add dimension on your page. ***Linked up at Paper Issues***I haven't taken a class in a good long while, and when I saw the Lifted Class from Studio Calico, I thought it would be a great one to sign up for this month! Lisa Truesdell is teaching the class and there are a lot of talented Ladies and some scrappy friends providing inspiration for the class. The class got started this past Sunday, but I was a little behind on reading through the material and decided to print out the PDF's yesterday and take a look at everything. After reading through the first 3 lessons, I immediately knew what I wanted to do and what photo I wanted to use and sat down to create this layout.
So I am really looking forward to what else will be coming up in the class. Do you like to join in any classes? What have been some of your favorites? I am not able to join in all the time because of finances getting in the way or just not having the time, but I think it's fun to give it a try every once in a while to learn new things and push out of your comfort zone.

Most of the layouts I shared, using the October Scrapbook Kit, Pumpkin Latte from The Paper Bakery, had a Fall theme. But for today's layout, I went a little out of that box and created an everyday layout with photos from a recent beach visit. I love paper and embellishments that you can use out of context or theme and this was a great way to finish up using all of the goodies in my October Kit. Notice anything out of the ordinary on this layout...well, at least out of the ordinary for me??!! I used FOUR photos! :) That doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while I like to force myself out of the one or two photo comfort zone and go a little crazy. Our daughter was having a great time playing in the sand and I just kept snapping away. I kept things a little more simple on this page, since I did use four photos. But I created some interest with the cut burst pattern. To create the burst, I cut a rectangle from the Amy Tan patterned paper and then I used a ruler to draw the burst pattern, from the center point of the rectangle. Then I used my scissors to cut along the pencil lines. After all of the pieces were cut, I roughed up the edges all around each piece and then placed it back in the rectangle shape on my layout. I love the effect of the burst and I balanced it out on the right hand side of the page by using one of the glassine bags used for packaging, one of the Free Printables for my journaling, some of the chipboard pieces from the Amy Tan Cut & Paste pack, and a Flair Button from The Paper Bakery shop.The October Scrapbook Kit is now sold out, but if you would like a guaranteed Kit each month, make sure you stop by the Store to sign up for a subscription! ***Linked up at Paper Issues***. I know a lot of us are already getting in the Christmas spirit, but I am still holding out til around Thanksgiving to go full force Christmas! So in honor of continuing on with Fall, I am sharing a layout today for American Crafts using the Autumn Crisp collection. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat or two, when this collection arrived and I opened it up to take a peek through all of the papers and embellishments. Definitely my favorite Autumn/Fall collection to date! I decided to go with a different page design on this layout, and work with a grid. I used a ruler to draw out my grid pattern and then stitched along the lines with dark Brown embroidery floss. Once I had the lines stitched, I started adding my photos and all of the fun embellishments and patterned papers.I used a little bit of everything for this page, including some of the Bits pieces, buttons, photo overlay, and wood veneer paper clip. When I do use a grid pattern, I usually like to extend some of the embellishments or part of the title outside of the grid. I like the interest it adds to the uniform design of the grid pattern. My Cameo also came in handy for cutting some great Fall leaves from the awesome Autumn Crisp papers. There are some great patterns and colors in this collection!

It's time to welcome November and I still have plenty of Fall and Halloween photos to scrap! Today, I am sharing one of the many photos taken during October, on my new layout for the Challenge Sunday Sketch It Out at Chic Tags. I just had to use the November Exclusive Kit from Chic Tags for this page. There is an awesome set of Flair buttons and stamps included in this month's Kit. Here's a look at the layout I created and the new Sketch for today.This Sketch allows space for a lot of layering and the star shapes can be interpreted in many different ways. I layered several of the tags from the November Kit behind my photo, and embellished with the "Our Crew" Flair Button and a couple of stamps from the stamp set. I also mixed in the wood grain paper from the Schoolhouse collection and some tags from the Happy Place collection.

***Linked up at Paper Issues***. Earlier this year, I was invited to Guest Design with Crazy Monday Scrapbook Kits, located in New Zealand. Crazy Monday Scrapbooking Kits is run by Annelie Maddock since July 2012. I was really excited to see the November Kit, "Rock Star Stuff", which includes a fun mix of Pink Paislee's Hey Kid and Simple Stories Say Cheese. There are also some great embellishments, including Pink Paislee embellishment packs, fun wood veneers, and a bottle of Studio Calico Hot Diggity spray mist! Today, I am sharing one of my first layouts using the Kit.
The White cardstock included in the Kit, made a great background for the bright, contrasting patterned papers. I kept a clean look on this page and added interest by layering the papers behind my photos and several embellishments from the Pink Paislee ephemera pack. The Thickers included in the Kit are awesome and I used them to layer my title on one of the PInk Paislee ephemera cards. There are also some fun vellum pieces in the ephemera pack and I used the Polaroid frame over one of my photos and a few others for embellishing my page.
