I wanted to stop by and share a layout I created during Club CK's Summer Camp. I never got this one posted on my Blog, because of several factors...DT posts going up and Internet going down (again) several times last week!! But I had a break in DT posts and thought this would be a great time to get it posted.
The challenge for this one, was to alter a sticker or stickers. Sometimes stickers are just so...well, plain!! :) This was a fun way to add a little more umph to the stickers that we all have in our stash.
You are probably thinking I am crazy and that there is no altered sticker on here...but it is kind of subtle!! :) One of my favorite ways to alter a sticker, is by using Diamond Glaze to give it an epoxy look. If you look closely at the little birdie sticker in the second photo, you will see it has a little shine to it. Adding the Diamond Glaze is a quick and easy way to add a little umph, to otherwise flat stickers. If you are looking for other fun ways to alter stickers, you may want to try...adding adhesive and then sprinkling with glitter, wrapping it with twine, layering other stickers together...there are lots of fun ways to play with stickers!
And just a little note about these papers!! CK did a giveaway a couple of issues ago, with this CUTE Baby Kit they had put together and I wanted it very badly!!! I entered the giveaway, but didn't get lucky enough to win it. Well, when I became one of the Moderators at Club CK, they sent out a goodie box to each one of us and lo and behold, when I opened mine up, it had one of the very kits in it!! I was totally excited! It has a fun mix of Sassafras papers and some Bella Blvd, Basic Grey Buttons, Sassafras Stickers, Amy Tan Thickers, and some cute trim from Crate Paper!! I thought it would be perfect to put together for a little bit of a different look, than the norm, for a Zoo page. So BIG Thanks to CK!! :)
I also used this page for the July/August Issue Challenge #4 at Club CK. The challenge was to use a monogram on your page. I LOVED that cute elephant on the Sassafras papers so I cut him out and then found an "E" on one of the other pages to go along with it..."E" is for elephant!! :)

ReplyDeleteI like your altered sticker idea for this sweet LO. Great stitching. I have to stop being so lazy and do some on my LOs.
ReplyDeleteI like altering stickers and chipboard by stamping them with a pigment ink pad and then heat embossing them with clear (or what ever colour you choose) embossing powder. They take on a whole new look.
Thanks for sharing your great work! :)
Such an adorable LO!! Love how you used the buttons!! ~ Blessings, Tracey
