What you ask? Use Wood Grain on almost every layout I do!! :) I LOVE It!! Wood Grain adds such a natural feel to your pages and texture...without actually adding texture! It even comes in lots of colors...Brown, Yellow, Pink, Blue, Orange...AWESOME!! This is definitely one trend, that I don't want to go out of style!! There is an article up today at Get It Scrapped! with layouts using Wood Grain, created by the awesome Creative Team!
I had some of the darker Wood Grain pattern in my stash and decided it would be perfect for a very boyish page for our little man.
I wanted to use a large amount of Wood Grain on this page, because it definitely works for the outdoors and it adds a great rugged look, for masculine pages. Since I used the Wood Grain for a large portion of my background, I thought it would be a great idea to do a negative cut for part of my title. I loaded the Wood Grain paper in my Cricut Expression and used it to cut 100%, then I just matted it to the 12x12 Yellow background, to have that pattern show through.
If you are looking for a fun way to use Wood Grain on your next layout, come over to the Get It Scrapped! Blog, to check out what the other Creative Team members did with this assignment!
