That happened with the layout I'm sharing today. I had mosaics stuck in my head for some reason and kept thinking of ways to incorporate the design into a layout. Since I love the Flair Buttons from A Flair for Buttons and circle designs...I decided to tie the three things together, and here's what I came up with, using the Epic Flair set.I started out drawing circles on a White cardstock background with the Silhouette Cameo Sketch Pens. Then I went to work cutting squares and rectangles from the Amy Tangerine Finder's Keepers collection. I went section by section and added the cut pieces of paper filling in each circle to create a mosaic look. Once the entire background was finished, I added the What a Story Flair Button from the Epic Flair set to the center circle. It went along perfectly with the photo and journaling on my layout (which tells about our son loosing his first tooth). I love to follow the design lines of a circle, so I added the photo and title outside of the second circle. I also wanted to add in some embellishing, so I used wood veneers, along with the Epic Flair Button from the set.This was a really fun technique, and it actually turned out the way I wanted it to...which doesn't always happen! HA! And it would be a great idea for using up your paper scraps or 6x6 paper pads! It matches everything, and that's why I decided to use the LOVE Gold Foil Flair set from A Flair for Buttons on the layout I'm sharing today. I wanted to incorporate the Flair Buttons into my background design, so I cut the All Heart cut file from The Cut Shoppe on White cardstock. Then I backed each section of the hearts with various patterned papers from the Finders Keepers collection from Amy Tangerine.Before adding the Flair Buttons and embellishments, I machine stitched through each row of hearts. Then I placed my photo in the center of the die cut. Once the photo was in place, I added the Flair, spacing them out around the heart die cut. I wanted the Flair Buttons placed on the larger hearts on the outside edges of the die cut, to leave room for smaller embellishments toward the center of the die cut.I decided to place the title close to the photo, to avoid covering a lot of the background detail. I chose coordinating Thickers from the Finders Keepers collection for the title. As a finishing touch to the layout, I stamped the plus sign from the Finders Keepers stamp set in Black ink, in some of the White space of the die cut. This past week, the American Crafts Design Team shared ways to use Instagram photos! I used a Beach photo as the main decorative element on a card!How to: Cut a 4.25x11" card base from white cardstock and fold in half. Cover front of card with Token patterned paper. Machine stitch along some of the stripes on the Token patterned paper. Layer a piece of the patterned paper cut from the Field Trip paper behind your Instagram photo. Add pop dots behind the photo and adhere to the front of the card. Layer the Happy Right Here tag on the right hand side of your photo. Attach two stars from the Printed Cardstock Shapes with a tiny attacher. For today's layout, I'm combining two of my favorite things...scrapbooking and food! My hubby and I are Triple D fanatics, and if you don't know what that is, it's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network. :) Anytime we take a road trip, our initial plans involve finding any restaurants that have appeared on Triple D, in that area. And on our trip to Ohio back in May, we were lucky enough to find several yummy restaurants that had been featured on the show.I love that Shelley always has the perfect Flair sets for any theme, in the A Flair for Buttons Shop! I knew the Travel Phrases 2 Flair was the perfect match for my layout. I cut the Scribble Scrabble cut file from The Cut Shoppe on my Silhouette Cameo and added three of the Flair Buttons from the set, to smaller circles around the large circle.I also love to add clustering, so I used some of the embellishments from the new Finders Keepers collection from Amy Tangerine, to mix in with the Flair Buttons. And I love that this Flair set is a Black & White set, which will coordinate with any product that you want to use on layout!
