And It Was All Yellow

Today is my 300th post and I am here to share a layout for Get It Scrapped!.  If you are wondering about the title of my post, it is part of the lyrics from the song Yellow by Coldplay.  The article at get it scrapped, is Using the Color Yellow, so what better title for this post??!!  :)

There are several ways to use the color Yellow on your pages to convey emotion or a "feel" to go along with the theme and photos on your layout.   I chose to use an analogous color scheme, which is choosing 3-5 colors that are side by side on the color wheel..  I chose yellow as my dominant color, by using it for the background.  Then I incorporated smaller amounts of Orange, Green, and Blue.  I wanted to convey a happy feel on this page, because our daughter was enjoying the beach so much.  This color scheme worked great for a fun and happy page.

And just in case you are wondering how I did the sunburst, here is what I did:  I took a piece of white cardstock and folded it in half.  Then I cut a long, skinny heart shape along the crease, so the shape would by symmetrical.  I did this in several different size hearts.  Then, I placed the longest heart in the center of the two photos on the left and traced it with a brown Zig pen.  I repeated this with the smaller shapes outward from the largest heart shape.

Make sure you visit Get It Scrapped!, to see other ways to use Yellow on your layouts!!
