August Sketch It Out Challenge

The new Sketch It Out Challenge that I host at Club CK, went up August 1!!  I decided to do a 1 photo sketch this month...but you can modify it for more photos if you need to, or even make it into a double pager!

I was actually inspired by a print ad, that I found online, and used it to create this sketch.  I kept my layout very close to the sketch, since I already had this photo in mind for the layout.  The Amy Tangerine SketchBook line keeps showing up on a lot of my pages, and I used it specifically for this month's challenge, because the TWIST for this month is to use NEON on your layout.  Neon colors are very popular right now in fashion and in Scrapbooking and Amy Tan is right on track with this fun line.  I also used some very cute neon Washi Tapes from Heidi Swapp and bright yellow stitching on my leaves.  The touches of black doodling in this line are so fun and I wanted to add a little more definition around the photo/patterned paper area, so I stitched along it with black embroidery floss.

Since the challenge has been going on for 6 months now, I thought it would be fun to introduce something new.  I decided to invite someone who has been playing along faithfully to be the Featured Artist for the month.  This month, I invited Andrea Niemeier (aka AndreaJoy on the Club CK MB).

I love the way Andrea used the sketch and added a little tilt to her photo!  And I think it's pretty funny that we both used the SketchBook line, not knowing what the other was using!  :)  Take a minute to stop by Andrea's Blog and check out her fabulous work!

You can come play along with us at Club CK and upload your layout HERE.  You have until Midnight, August 31, to upload your page.  You do not have to use the twist on your page, if it doesn't work for you.  It's just a little added bonus to go along with each month's challenge.
