Washi Tape? Yes, Please!

Get It Scrapped! has a great article up this week...8 Ideas for Embellishing Scrapbook Pages with Washi Tape.  I had the pleasure of doing a page for this article and used one of my favorite Washi Tapes - the SMASH Tape from K&Company.  I love the black and white tape with the polka dots, because you can use it on most of your layouts, without worrying about matching colors to your papers.

So, here is a little bit about my page.  First off, I took inspiration for this page from the Father's Day Card class taught back in June by Kim Watson at Club CK.  She gave step by step instructions for an awesome Father's Day card, which included some cute felt mustache's...which is what our daughter is wearing in the photo.  So the theme of my page fell in line from there.  I re-created one of the felt mustache's from the card, using patterned paper this time.  I also used one of the large stickers from the Echo Park Times & Seasons collection for an extra embellishment on my page.  That is where my Washi Tape comes in.  I cut four strips of the SMASH tape and folded them in half.  I didn't press them all the way together at the ends, though.  Once I had each of the pieces folded, I just adhered them to the back of the sticker, to create a fun embellishment for the page.  I also added a strip of the SMASH tape as a border, at the top of the page.  For some more great ideas for Washi Tape on your layouts or projects come check out the article at Get It Scrapped!

Products Used:  Patterned Paper & Stickers:  Echo Park; Thickers:  American Crafts; SMASH Tape:  K&Company; Wood Veneer:  Studio Calico; Brads:  My Mind's Eye;  Baker's Twine:  The Twinery; Other:  Buttons & Dowel
