As the years have passed, I have noticed changes in the way I scrapbook. When I first started, every layout had to be double page and whatever the design was on one side, the other side had to mirror it. And everything had to be in the albums in chronological order. Then I started doing double page layouts, that didn't have to mirror on each side...still chronological though! :) Next I graduated to mixing in some single page layouts...in chronological order, of course. Now, I find myself sticking to single page layouts all the time (and I finally gave up the desire to have all of my layouts in chronological order in my albums). I usually do anywhere from 1-4 photos on a layout. But there are times, when I have a few more photos to work with, but still want to stay away from creating a double pager. Today, we are sharing an assignment at Get It Scrapped!, that asked us to use 6 photos on a single page layout.
I always find that using "photo strips" is an easy and fun way to include a lot of photos on a single page layout. On this layout, I included 6 photos that are sized at 3.25x3.25. With the popularity of Instagram, this is a great way to get those photos off of your phone and onto a layout. I pulled my photos from my Instagram file on Facebook and loaded them into a Desktop Publishing program. Then I arranged them in two different photo strips, printed them, and cut them out. You could also print your photos individually, if you don't have access to a Desktop Publishing program, and then cut each one and arrange them in a photo strip on your layout.
And you can also play around with the size of your photos, because the smaller the photo, the more you can include on your layout! Using a photo grid, is also a great way to create a single page layout that has room for a lot of photos.

I have seen my style change too over the years...so fun to evolve!!! I loveeeeeeeeeee your lo!! LOVING the colors, the photos and love love love love all the circle elements!!!!
ReplyDeleteFunny. My style change and yours are quite similar. However, I still love me some double pagers. But I do find myself making single pages more and more. Love the circle pie thing. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteOh Ashley I absolutely love this layout. The colors and wow, 6 photos on one page.
ReplyDeleteMy style has changed and is still changing. My original style was that Creating Memories where you cut your photos in shapes and no pattern paper just doodles or stickers. I so wish I could go back and redo all those, but that is all a part of the evolution of scrapbooking. I am a one or two photo kind of girl and my although I am happy with my current style it is still evolving.
I love the ferris wheel you made! The usage of arrows is brilliant and I love the film strip.
ReplyDeletelove this grid design and those photos are fabulous!! looks like a fun time was had at the fair...
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! I love your pie chart embellie. Great photos and I'm really loving the square photo size. Fab job Ashley!
ReplyDeletechange is good--your layout looks FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteI think my scrapbooking style is still evolving. When I look back at some of the early LOs, I cringe. I've come a long way.
ReplyDeleteOh how my eyes are sooo happy! Superb layout and great photos!! Yayyyy!
ReplyDeleteI am still putting my pages in chronologically... I have way too much OCD to stop doing that! :) I love your 6 photo layout and you still managed to squeeze in some beautiful embellishments! I am really loving your "Pie" circle that resembles a ferris wheel! That is so cool! You need to teach me how to add so many great details to my pages without having them look crowded. Your pages always look so cute and "put together!"
ReplyDeleteThis is just adorable Ashley. I love how you created the photo strips. Great design and fabulous elements. Isn't it amazing how we can look back on our journey as a paper crafter and see how we have changed and grown.
ReplyDeleteI love your ferris wheel of patterned paper! Also think it's so smart to group the photos together and use such colorful side borders. Fun page!
ReplyDeleteReally great page! I love the bright colors and all of the little bits of buttons and twine you used.
ReplyDeleteTotally adorable Ashley! I love the circle elements and those buttons and flair are super cool!!
