Get It Scrapped! | Photo Sequence

There are many ways to arrange photos on a layout, and this week at Get It Scrapped!, the Creative Team shared ideas on using a Photo Sequence on your layouts. This can be a great way to show action or motion on your layout or help to emphasize the most important photo on a multi-photo layout.

Our oldest daughter was saved over the Summer during Vacation Bible School, and was baptized in our church in August.  I used a Photo Sequence, across my layout and highlighted one of the photos in the series, by adding a chipboard frame.  Then I clustered most of my embellishments and title near the Photo Sequence.  This design worked well for my photos, because it shows the "action" of events, by capturing frame by frame our daughter's Baptism.

Get It Scrapped! | Chalkboard

The Chalkboard look has been a popular trend with the releases from Summer CHA.  Two that immediately come to mind, are My Mind's Eye and Fancy Pants.  The Creative Team at Get It Scrapped!, created layouts based on the Chalkboard trend and shared them in yesterday's article on the GIS Blog.  Here is how I used the trend on my layout:

  
We are lucky enough to live close to the water, and it's always such a beautiful and relaxing place to take in the scenery.  I used several print and cut files and part of a piece of patterned paper from the Glitz Design Uncharted Waters collection, to add a Chalkboard element to my layout.  I didn't want to use the Chalkboard trend in a typical way, so I thought pairing it with the wood grain and polka dot pattern would create a fun look on my layout.  It's always fun to think outside the box, when you are using themed elements on your projects.

Stuck! Sketches Guest Designer | Nature in Macro

My friend Laura Whitaker recently took over the Stuck! Sketches challenge site and I am excited to be Guest Designing for today's Sketch!  Laura has a new Team and they will be sharing lots of inspiration based on the monthly Sketches.  I really loved working with today's Sketch and here's what I came up with!!

 
I didn't change much on my layout, based on the Sketch.  I did want to only use two photos for this layout, so I used a die cut in place of the third photo.  And this was one of those pages, where I just mixed in little bit of everything and loved the end result.

It's Sketch Week!

Today starts off a new Sketch Week with Allison Davis!  The new sketch is a single page sketch, but great for a multi photo page.  When I received the sketch, I knew it would work great for individual shots from last Halloween, and still be able to add in the group shot.

I replaced the 4x3 photos with 2.5x2.5 photos.  I didn't really need to add any journaling, so I replaced the journaling spot from the Sketch, with a fourth photo.  I kept the embellishment clusters and title in the same place, and added a few patterned paper strips and vellum spider web along the right hand side of the page.

American Crafts | Cut & Paste

Yesterday, it was my turn on the American Crafts Blog to share a layout and card for Cut & Paste week!  I really love this collection, because you can do so many different things with it.  My favorite photos to scrap, are the everyday photos and this collection is perfect for that!

 

I knew I wanted to work the word Love from the die cut paper into my title, so I used the chipboard piece with the word Eat and some Thickers to create the full title, Eat, Love & Be Happy.  I incorporated the ampersand stamp into my title, by stamping on one of the patterned papers and then embossing it with Red Zing embossing powder.

Next up, is a card using the Cut & Paste collection.  I wanted to give my card character, so I added a lot of layers.  The patterned papers, stamps, a Stitched Vellum Pocket, and die cut shapes add dimension and a fun look to my card.

Silhouette DT Announcement & Mums the Word!

Before I share my layout today for The Paper Bakery, using the new October Scrapbook Kit, Pumpkin Latte, I have a BIG announcement!  I am one of the newest members of the Silhouette Design Team!  I was very shocked to receive the notification email last Friday, but very excited to be invited to the Team.  You can check out the official announcement here on the Silhouette Blog.  And here is a look at all of the talented Ladies, I will be designing with:

Now, on to my layout!!  I have to say, that I really LOVE the October Scrapbook Kit from The Paper Bakery!  I created this layout, within two hours of the Kit arriving on my doorstep and getting it open.  The photo, papers and title all just came together so easily!

This Kit is filled with YUMMINESS!!  There is a mix of Amy Tangerine's new Cut & Paste collection, Pebbles, Webster's Pages and Elle's Studio.  One of my favorite items in this Kit, might just be the awesome Gold and Silver rub ons from Pink Paislee!!  I love the way the Gold arrows, circles and chevron look against the dark wood grain paper from the Cut & Paste collection. I also added in a couple of extras not included with the Kit, such as the A-MAZ-ING Wood Veneer journal card and the Gold sequin stars.  Both of these items are available in The Paper Bakery shop.
