Hi everyone! I’m back today, to share a new layout, using the January 2016 Hip Kit & Add-On Kitsfrom Hip Kit Club. I also used our January Sketch, as inspiration for my layout. I decided to go a little more clean and simple on this page…or at least clean and simple for me!
I used White cardstock from the January Cardstock Kit, as my background. I really wanted the photos and MME Journaling Cards from the January Project Life Kit to stand out. The Journaling Cards were a perfect match to the January Sketch. I started the layout by placing the cards, and then added machine stitching around the edge of each one.
Next, I added my photos and title. I also kept the title simple and mixed the Crate Paper Love wood veneer from the January Main Kit, with the Studio Calico wood veneer alphas from the Project Life Kit. I finished the layout, with several embellishments, placed throughout the grid design.
We would love to see your take on the January Sketch, so if you use it to create a layout, make sure your visit the Hip Kit Club Member Forum on Facebook and share it with us. And while you’re there, check out our Weekly Challenges and play along for the chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Hip Kit Shop.

A Flair for Buttons | Jolly Good Times
This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of ashleyhortondesigns.com. I do receive compensation and material product from A Flair for Buttons and American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.
It's almost the end of January, but I'm here today with a Christmas layout! Yep! It's only 11 months away, you know! HA! I had so many Christmas photos, and I am in love with the Foil Christmas Flair Buttons from A Flair for Buttons. I used the Foil Christmas Flair 1 and Foil Christmas Flair 2 sets on this layout. And I just can't stop making circle layouts for some reason! But I do love placing the flair buttons around the circle design.
I started out with the die cut snowflake design and then I sprinkled Gold Color Shine in the background, before adding any other elements on the layout. I placed my photo once the Color Shine was dry, and then chose the spots for my Flair Buttons. I knew I wanted one next to the photo, then I spaced the other two around the snowflake die cut.
So no matter what time of year, you feel like creating holiday layouts, the A Flair for Buttons shop has just what you need! You can find both sets that I used, by visiting the Shop, and a few...or a lot...more designs!

Once the Flair Buttons were in place, I added some embellishments from the Pinkfresh Studio Christmas Wishes collection. I wanted to add in a bit more Red, so I cut a second snowflake design on my Cameo, to fill in the spaces around the snowflake die cut. Then I cut small circles from Gold Glitter cardstock to place in the center of each Red snowflake, to go along with the Gold Flair Buttons.

Hip Kit Club | Be a Voice, Not an Echo
Happy Friday! I'm here today to share a new layout for Hip Kit Club, using the January 2016 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits!
I love that the monthly Hip Kits are like their own mini kits, because so many different collections are mixed in! The January Hip Kits include product from Crate Paper, Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye and more. I worked mainly with the Basic Grey and MME products for today's layout.
I wanted to incorporate one of the gorgeous monthly cut files, so I used the Subscriber Only cut file designed by Kim Watson, as a large background element on my layout. You can also visit the Hip Kit Club website, and download our Free monthly cut files, just by signing up on the website. The Subscriber cut files, are only available if you have a current subscription to any of the kits.
If you're looking to subscribe to a Kit Club, you won't be disappointed with the monthly Hip Kits! There is no end, to what you can create each month, using these awesome kits!

Hip Kit Club | These Are My People
Love is in the air...especially since my January 2016 Hip Kit & Add-On Kitsfrom Hip Kit Club arrived earlier this week! Theses kits are filled with gorgeous love themed products, that are perfect for your Valentine's Day projects or just for everyday. I had to use the Blush patterned paper from Crate Paper, that's included in the Main Kit and the Paper Add-On Kit, for my background. The geometric pattern and mix of colors is so amazing!
I knew I wanted to add a whimsical look to this paper, with the mix of embellishments included in the January Kits. I used the center points from groups of the triangle shapes to add some chipboard pieces, stickers and brads that are included in the January Embellishment Kit and in the Main Kit.
The Studio Calico wood veneer alphas from the Project Life Kit and the Crate Paper Thickers from the Embellishment Kit, were the perfect mix for creating my title. A lot of times, I place my title close to my photo, but I wanted to utilize the geometric design and spread things out a bit more on this layout. For a touch of contrast, I sprinkled a bit of Black Color Shine from my stash, around the layout.
If you're feeling the love, like I am for the January Hip Kits, make sure you stop by the Hip Kit Club website, if you're not already a subscriber. I think you will fall in love with this month's Kit and want to grab it, before it's all sold out!
And while you're there, checking out the January Hip Kits, make sure you take a look at the February 2016 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits! The new kits were revealed yesterday on the Hip Kit Website, and they are packed with several of the new Winter CHA releases!!

A Flair for Buttons | The Great 8
This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of ashleyhortondesigns.com. I do receive compensation and material product from A Flair for Buttons and American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.
I'm excited to be here today, to share my first post for A Flair for Buttons in 2016! I love creating large shapes on my layouts, and then filling them with stuff! It's always fun designing this type of layout. And what better embellishments to use for filling in space, than Flair Buttons! I created a large number 8 on my layout, with the Silhouette Cameo Sketch Pens, then added in a mix of embellishments, including flair from the Epic Flair set and the Minimal 2 Flair set.
I love the Black & White flair sets because they can coordinate with any collection. I used the Happy Place collection from Fancy Pants for this layout, and filled in the 8 with puffy stickers, Bits, wood veneers and my title. I placed the flair buttons first, to have them balanced inside the shape.
Once I had the inside of the number 8 filled with embellishments, I stitched around the outside with Black embroidery floss for a more defined shape. I placed my photo to the right of the shape. And I wanted to bring in a few more patterned papers, so I cut four different patterns from the Happy Place 6x6 paper pad, to add in each corner of the layout.
So next time you're looking for a fun, new way to use your Flair Buttons, try incorporating them into a large shape on your layout. You can check out the full sets of the Epic Flair and the Minimal 2 Flair in the A Flair for Buttons Etsy shop!

Happy New Year! I'm giving myself a little pat on the back today, because I actually completed my December Daily, before December was over! HA! I finished Day 25 on December 30th. And It's a big accomplishment, considering I only made it to Day 4 on last year's December Daily! So without further ado, here are my completed pages Day 20-Day 25.
