Today I'm stopping in to share not just one layout, but two using the March 2016 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits from Hip Kit Club! That gives me a total of five for this month, and I could probably easily finish 5 other layouts with my kit and still have left overs!! Too many goodies, and not enough time! HA! Here's a look at my first layout, using the March Sketch, that you can find in the Hip Kit Member Forum on Facebook.I decided to use the sketch as is, but amp it up with one of the Pinkfresh Studio patterned papers in the March 2016 Main Kit. The pattern was originally at the top of the page, but I flipped it, so I could use the White space to add my photos and PL card from the March 2016 Project Life Kit. I loved being able to still use a patterned paper for the background, without it overwhelming the photos and embellishments.I layered some of the Elle's Studio tags from the Project Life Kit with the Pink Fresh Studio Die Cut Shapes from the March 2016 Embellishment Kit, over the PL card for interest. And I kept the title for my layout on the simple side, by adding the word "Loveliness" from the Pinkfresh Studio Thickers, also included in the March Embellishment Kit. I also wanted to add some more dimension to the pattern at the bottom of the page, so I mixed in some of the Pinkfresh Studio puffy stickers and Die Cut Shapes.
And I'm sure you can quote me on saying this many times, but I love how you can create so many layouts from the Hip Kits that have totally different looks. The second layout I'm sharing, uses some of the exclusive patterned papers in the March 2016 Main Kit and March 2016 Paper Add-On Kit, designed by Kim Watson. I also enlarged one of the March cut files designed by Nicole Nowosad.
Both of the patterned papers used for the background and die cut, were designed by Kim. I loved the look of the darker Blue on the Teal background. And I actually limited my color scheme to about 95% of those two colors, adding in a touch of Yellow and Black. The Basic Grey enamel dots included in the March Project Life Kit were the perfect embellishments to add to the diamond shapes on the background paper. I mixed the different sizes and alternated the colors of the enamel dots.I placed my photo at the top of the large title and clustered several embellishments around it, to draw your eye. And I love the contrast of the Red in the photo, against the color scheme of the layout. I added another embellishment cluster at the bottom of the layout, to balance the photo and embellishments at the top of the page.I had so much fun creating with the March Hip Kits, and now I'm looking forward to working with the April 2016 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits!! This week the Crate Paper Design Team is sharing travel themed projects, and I kicked things off on the Blog yesterday! I got creative, since we are only working with the Bloom and Little You collections right now. I love it when you can use a collection that doesn't necessarily fit your theme to create a layout outside of the box!My first big decision in making the Bloom products work for my travel theme was the choice of patterned paper for my background. I decided to go with the Together 12x12 paper. I loved that it had motion with the design of the lines and that it’s a color that I don’t always work with. It’s fun to try new color schemes, and I thought the Green lines would be great for a travel page.I thought it would be fun to create a large title with a hand-cut letter look. But I cheated and instead of cutting the letters with scissors, I used my Silhouette Cameo. I decided to cut the title from the Blossom patterned paper, because I loved the contrast of the bright Pink against the Green lines in the background. And since there are no travel themed embellishments in the Bloom collection, I used my Cameo once again with the Bloom 6x6 paper pad to create state shapes for my layout. I embellished both of them with hand stitching, Thickers and stickers.

Last week the Pink Paislee Designers shared projects with the Fancy Free collection by Paige Evans! I'm stopping in today, to share my layout that was on the Pink Paislee Blog on Friday.I love using cut files with patterned paper, so I thought it would be fun to use the I'll Fly Away cut file from The Cut Shoppe with the patterned papers from the Fancy Free collection. I used a variety of the papers to add behind the butterflies, once the design was cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.I decided to add my photo on the top right hand corner and the title on the opposite side of the layout and at the bottom. This placement kept the butterfly background from being covered by two large elements on my page. And I used a black & white photo to contrast all of the color from the Fancy Free collection.I finished the layout by adding a mix of embellishments to the center. I love all of the motion on the layout from the butterfly design, title and embellishment placement!Fancy Free is already starting to show up in some stores, so make sure you keep checking your favorite shop!

That's what my newest layout, using the March 2016 Hip Kits from Hip Kit Club, is all about! And I may have added just a "touch" of color to the layout!!
I knew I had to find a way to incorporate the flowers from the BasicGrey Flower Kit included in the March 2016 Embellishment Kit. I thought it would be fun to work them into a circle design, so I cut a large circle from the White cardstock included in the March 2016 Cardstock Add-On Kit. Then I placed it over one of the Pinkfresh Studio patterned papers in the March 2016 Main Kit, and then I arranged the flowers so they would peek through the circle shape. I also wanted to add a hand-stitched title, so I sketched the words "Flower Girl" with my Silhouette Sketch Pens. Then I stitched each of them with embroidery floss that matched the colors of the flowers. This layout already had a lot of color, but I thought it would be fun to bring in more color with a border around the layout, using the Pinkfresh Studio Washi Tape Stickers from the Main Kit. I finished my layout by adding several embellishments and by layering a few Elle's Studio goodies over my photo.I hope I've shown you some fun inspiration for using the Basic Grey flowers in this month's kit!!

I do receive compensation and material product from A Flair for Buttons to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own. We have a 6 year old boy, who is always on the go! The only time he is quiet and still is when he's sleeping! With that said, it's hard to get him to stop and sit still for photos, but I got lucky and snapped this cute photo of him at the park one afternoon. There are a lot of great boy themed Flair sets in the shop, but I just had to use the cute paper airplane Flair from the Paper Airplanes 2 Flair set on my layout.I wanted to create a lot of motion on the layout, to reflect his busy personality. I used a bold, black & white striped patterned paper for the background. To contrast the stripes, I used a pie chart cut file, to add a circular element to the layout. I left the pie chart cut file in tact for the smallest circle and backed it with various patterned papers from the Amy Tangerine Better Together collection. Then I placed three of the Flair Buttons from the Paper Airplanes 2 set in several sections of the pie chart shape.I continued the circle design, by removing the pie chart triangle shapes out of the circle and cut two more large circles to add to the layout. I kept all of the embellishments clustered inside the two smaller circles at the center of the page. And I added some wood veneer arrows and Thicker phrases to continue the motion on the layout. The Paper Airplane Flair Buttons also add motion to the layout, because the planes are pointing in different directions.I also love how well the colors on the Paper Airplane Flair Buttons worked with the Better Together collection! They look like they were made for each other! You can check this set out in the A Flair for Buttons Shop.
