Today, I'm stopping in to share my first layout with the December 2015 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits from Hip Kit Club. The December Kit is a great way to kick off your new year. There's a mix of Maggie Holmes, Heidi Swapp, Studio Calico, American Crafts, Shimmerz and so much more!
I created my first layout by cutting a large heart from one of the Studio Calico patterned papers. Then I traced the heart onto White cardstock and filled in the space with the Maggie Holmes Glitter Thickers, Bits and Wood Veneers with a few more embellishments mixed in!

It's time to share a new layout for Hip Kit Club, using the August 2015 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits! This week I decided to go with the flow...the flow of the awesome Pinkfresh Studio patterned paper from the August Main Kit, that is! I love wood grain and triangles, so put those two things together and it's a match made in heaven! I also wanted to incorporate the fun Pinkfresh Acetate Triangles included in the August 2015 Embellishment Kit, so I layered those over the patterned paper triangles and added machine stitching for texture.
I wanted to keep the diagonal design, so I added my photo to overlap the triangle pattern. I clustered a couple of the Pinkfresh Studio embellishments from the August Main Kit and August Embellishment Kit around the photo. And the Dear Lizzy chipboard piece from the Embellishment Kit made a perfect title for my layout. I used a couple of the Project Life cards from the August 2015 Project Life Kit to add a couple of layers behind the photo.
Once I had my photo in place, I finished embellishing with some of the Crate Paper Enamel Dots, Freckled Fawn Glitter Hearts and Pinkfresh Studio Wood Veneers. I really liked the way the patterned paper and embellishments came together to create a fun confetti look on the layout. And I couldn't go without a touch of Black Color Shine, so I added some splatters throughout the diagonal design.
I've still got a lot of awesome goodies left in my August 2015 Hip Kits, so I might be able to squeeze in another layout to share here on the Blog, before the September 2015 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits arrive! But once I have that new box in my hands, I can't make any promises! I know I'll dig into those new goodies right away!!

Happy 4th of July Eve everyone! I hope you are all ready for a great weekend, filled with food, fun, family and fireworks (oh the joys of alliteration!). I wanted to stop in today and share a new layout that went up on the Hip Kit Blog, earlier this week, using the June 2015 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits.
We visited Niagara Falls in May, and we just had to go down to the people bridge at the bottom of the Falls. Each of us received a very stylish poncho, and of course, I had to snap some photos. I loved these two photos of our son, and knew I wanted to use them with the June 2015 Hip Kits!
I started out with the XO cut file, that is available for download in the Hip Kit Member Forum on Facebook. I ungrouped the cut file, and traced one of the Xs and Os. Then I just enlarged both letters, and copied and flipped them on the bottom, to create a grid look. I cut the letters from the Elle’s Studio patterned paper included in the June 2015 Main Kit and the June 2015 Paper Add-On Kit. Then I added some machine stitching around each letter, before adding my photos and embellishments.
After the letters were cut and stitched, I backed them with different patterned papers and added my photos to the center of the Os. Then came the really fun part…picking out all of the Thickers and embellishments to complete my layout. I used the Guilded Silver Thickers from the June 2015 Embellishment Kit, with the Kitten Thickers from the June 2015 Project Life Kit, for my title.
I wanted to embellish each letter, so I chose a mix of the Evalicious wood veneers, Crate Paper Bits, Chipboard Phrases and wood buttons, and Freckled Fawn star stickers. I loved using the XO Die Cut on this layout, to create a fun design and the perfect area for adding all of the awesome embellishments that are included in each month’s Hip Kits!

Hi everyone! I’m back to share not one, but two layouts with you today! Did you know that you can download FREE Cut Files from the Hip Kit Club Member Forum on Facebook? Nicole Nowosad and I have created several Freebie Friday cut files, and you can come over and join the Member Forum for chatting, challenges, cut files and lots of fun! Today on the layouts I’m sharing with you, I used the Freebie Friday cut file I designed, that was added to the Member Forum last week. I wanted to use the same cut file on two layouts to create totally different designs.
Now, let's get to the layouts!
I wanted to use the cut file on this layout, as a large circle element. I used the Ellipse tool to add a circle around each of the rows of XOs, and then cut each one out on a different patterned paper included in the June 2015 Main Kit. Once the circles were finished cutting, I just used my scissors to snip each one in half and then placed them on the White cardstock from the June 2015 Cardstock Add-On, according to their size. I used the Kitten Thickers from the June 2015 Project Life Add-On, to create my title around the outer edge of the circles on the right hand side of the layout. Then I placed my photo strip to the left side of the title. I embellished with some of the fun Evalicious Wood Veneers included in the June 2015 Embellishment Kit and the Project Life Kit, and bits and pieces of the Crate Paper embellishments.
I also have a new Process Video to go along with this layout, and it shows a bit of both layouts at the beginning, and how I set up the cut file to create the two different pages.
I used a fun and easy technique for this layout. I cut the XO cut file from a piece of cardstock, and placed it over the Crate Paper patterned paper I wanted to use for my background. Once it was in place, I used it as a template to add the Xs and Os back into the negative spaces. I adhered each of the letters and then removed the cardstock piece. Before I added my photo and embellishments, I stitched around the circles with my sewing machine. I arranged the photo title and embellishments in a horizontal design on this layout, compared to the more vertical design on the first. I placed my photo to the right of the layout, and then added in some of the cute die cut flowers from the CP Poolside Ephemera pack included in the June 2015 Main Kit. I wanted to balance out the left side, so I used a large Fancy Pants tag from the Embellishment Kit, as a base for a few more embellishments.
I really love the variety that’s included in our Hip Kits every month! It’s fun to create so many different looks on your layouts, with products that all coordinate in the same Kit!

I’m here today to share my first layout with you, using the June 2015 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits! This month’s Kits are filled with lots of fun Summer and travel themed products! It was really hard to decided what I wanted to use first. I decided to go with a silly photo of our son, posing on the lifeguard stand at the beach. I already knew I wanted to get this photo on a layout, so it was a match made in heaven with the June Kits!
The Simple Stories patterned paper from their new Summer Vibes collection made a perfect background for my layout. I really loved the mix of color, and the ray and bokeh effect. I didn’t want to cover up a lot of the background paper, so I created a horizontal design across the page, using a mix of embellishments from the June Main Kit, Embellishment Kit and Project Life Kit. Lots of great goodies for layering!
And check out all of the Thickers, sticker letters and chipboard words that are in the Kits this month! I just knew I had to create a long title, using a mix of all of these options. I grabbed Thickers from the Main Kit & the Project Life Kit and the Elle’s Studio letter stickers and Crate Paper chipboard words from the Embellishment Kit, to create my title. I love the mix of different fonts and colors!

Another month has flown by and it's time to share my last two projects for Hip Kit Club, with the August 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits. I created 4 layouts and 4 cards with the August kit for my DT work, and I have lost count of the extra layouts I've used the rest of my kit for this month. They are packed with so many goodies, and I love continuing to work with all of the leftover products in my kit each month!
All of the fun Crate Paper Notes & Things cards in the ephemera pack, included in the August 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits, are perfect for creating a grid design. I started my design by placing the large Be Happy card in the top left hand corner and went from there. I love those Gold Buckaroo Thickers, so I used them to create a large title for my layout. I added in some stickers and cork embellishments from the Shimelle collection and used one of the masks from the Studio Calico pack to finish off my layout.
There is so much variety in the August 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits, and I love that all of my layouts and cards have a unique look. For this card, I wanted to use the Shimelle diagonal Black & White paper for my card background. Then I mixed in some softer colors with the Teal and light Salmon. I created a photo theme for this card, by mixing the Transparent negative frame with one of the cork pieces from the Shimelle collection and the Captured tag from the Crate Paper Notes & Things ephemera pack.

It's time to share a new layout and card today, for Hip Kit Club, using the August 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits! I think I could just get this kit over and over every month and be completely happy!! There are so many amazing papers and embellishments in this one, and I loved using all of them!
You can't have an awesome piece of paper like the Studio Calico "Three Hour Tour" pattern and not do a vacation or travel layout! I wanted to use some of the photos from a cruise that we went on, back in 2007. This is also the first time I have used 5 photos on a layout in a while!! I wanted my title area to stand out, so I mixed the Globe from Shimelle's collection with the Shimelle letter stickers and American Crafts Thickers. This gave me the idea of where to place my photos on the page. After I had my photos where I wanted them, I used some of the Crate Paper ephemera pieces and enamel dots to embellish around my photos.
The Gold chevron Washi Tape in the August 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits, is perfect for adding a pop to your projects. I used the Washi Tape to create my card base, by adding strips over the White cardstock. I continued the Gold theme, by using products from Crate Paper and My Mind's Eye on my card.

Does it get much better than scrapbooking a photo of scrapbook supplies??!! I say, no it doesn't! :) When my kits arrive each month from Hip Kit Club, I just have to take everything out and look at it, and it's always so pretty, that it deserves a photo. So when I decided to use the Studio Calico Gold star vellum paper, I just had to use the photo of my August 2014 Hip Kits & Add-On Kit on my layout!
Vellum paper with Gold Stars? Yes please!! If you're like me and don't happen to own a sewing machine, and think how can I still use Vellum paper over my cardstock. Well, here's what I did...if you have an adhesive roller, just add a thin strip around the edge of the cardstock and then place your Vellum paper on top. If you don't have a clear adhesive roller, grab a Tiny Attacher or regular stapler and just staple once around each edge. And if you're feeling really brave, you could hand stitch around the edge of your Vellum paper. But whatever you do, it's definitely worth using! I love the look of the Gold stars over the White cardstock, paired with all of the gorgeous Shimelle, Crate Paper, Studio Calico and Freckled Fawn goodies, in the August 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits.
When I first got a look at the new Shimelle collection, I really liked it a lot. But once we received our August 2014 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits, my like turned into L.O.V.E!! I love that it has a touch of shabby chic and pairs so well with the Crate Paper ephemera included in the kit. I just had to mix the two for a fun little card!
