Silly Superhero

Leave it to me, to be posting Halloween layouts during Christmas!!  :)  You never know what you might get when you stop in here!!  This layout is for one of our assignments at Get It Scrapped! and I worked on it back in October, but we are just now getting to the reveal.  I had a lot of fun working on this one and it incorporates a fun trend in Scrapbooking...Using Bursts!  Before I started my assignment, I looked around the Blog/Gallery world to get some inspiration and here is what I came up with:

I wanted to create a fun burst pattern to add energy to my layout.  I used my Expression to die cut an asterisk shape for my page and folded each of the lines down the center.  Next, I added faux stitching with a white Sakura pen.  I added a smaller asterisk to the center for more dimension and added arrows to the end of each line, for more emphasis on the energy of my page.  Working with this type of burst was a little challenging in my page design, so I only added part of the burst shape.  This allowed me to place my photos and title to the left of the burst and then embellish around the page with paper strips and a chevron pattern.

And just a side note...I am beyond annoyed every time I look at this page, because I love the way it turned out, but those crazy photos are not lined up straight!!  UGH!!  Just one of those things I didn't notice until the whole thing was finished.  I guess they can't all be perfect, though!!

Come over to Get It Scrapped! and find out more ways for using Bursts on your next layout!!  There are also 12 Days of Free Downloads going on at Get It Scrapped!.  You can get in today on day four and pick up your free download.
