If you are looking to get in the Christmas spirit, then the November Scrapbook Kit, Holiday Charm from The Paper Bakery is just what you need! I've loved getting some of last year's Christmas photos scrapped, and I'm looking forward to having new photos from this Christmas. The photo I used for today's layout, is one that I've actually held off on for a while. The dining room, where we set up our tree, is painted a Terracotta Orange...which I love, but it doesn't make a great backdrop for Christmas photos. So when I got this Kit, I challenged myself to finally get this photo scrapped and came up with a simple solution...turn it black and white!
Changing the photo to black and white, was just what I needed to do! And I also used the custom Flair Button and one of my die cut snowflakes to cover some flaws in the photo. There was a bright glare in the picture hanging on the wall, so the Flair Button was perfect for disguising it. And I used the snowflake to hide the outlet, that the plugs from the lights were plugged into.
So next time you have a photo you are struggling with, hopefully these ideas will help give you a jump start or maybe you can think of some of your own great ideas to share for using photos that aren't just quite right for what you need.
